Wheat Flour Snack Recipe

This sweet snack you can make it easily with wheat flour. Even Wheat flour snack looks like South India murukku but its taste is totally different. You just take less than 5 minutes to prepare it. Try it and enjoy it together with your family.

Most of the people like to have snacks with tea or coffee in the evening. Here  I am sharing with you the recipe for one of the easiest and tastiest snacks. This snack will make your evening more enjoyable with taste. One day evening my uncle had a surprise visit to our home. Actually, I was trying to cook a wheat snack for the first time on that day. He casually visited my kitchen and then saw the snack that I prepared. He took one piece of the snack and had a bite of the snack. I was afraid of thinking about his opinion and just stood near him without telling anything as I was not sure of the taste, whether it's good or bad because it was my first trial. But my uncle patted on my shoulders and told me that it’s so delicious and he needs to know the recipe to share with my aunt. I was so happy at that moment as I got an appreciation from someone out of my house. Try this snack at your home and surprise your loved one with a new taste.

Ingredients For Wheat Flour Snack

Wheat flour - 1cup
Water - 1 cup
Oil - 2 Tbsp
Sugar - 2 tbsp + 3 tbsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon powder - 1/2 tsp

Preparation For Wheat Flour Snack

1. Mix wheat flour with sugar and salt.
2. Heat water and oil until boiling. Turn off the heat.
3. Add wheat flour mix and stir well. Do not overbeat as this will make the mixture hard and tough.
4. Fill the dough into a sevanazhi or piping bag fitted with a star-shaped blade or nozzle. Press into hot oil and deep fry until golden brown color.
5. Remove snack and allow to cool slightly. Coat with cinnamon sugar.

Tips

  • Use up the dough immediately and fry the snack, resting the dough will make the snack oily
  • Always fry them on a medium-high heat otherwise snack will turn soft after 1 to 2 days.
  • If the oil is not hot enough then they absorb more oil and they turn soft the next day.

Method For Wheat Flour Snack

1. Add wheat flour with sugar and salt, mix it well

2. Add water and 2 tbsp oil in a pan

3. Heat water and oil until boiling. Turn off the heat.

5. Do not overbeat as this will make the mixture hard and tough.

7. Heat oil in a pan

8. Press into hot oil and  use kitchen scissors to cut off dough from sevanazhi or piping bag

9. Deep fry until golden brown color

10. Remove snack and allow to cool slightly

11. Add Cinnamon powder and sugar in a bowl, mix it well

12. Roll wheat snack in cinnamon sugar
