Shallots stir fry is very delicious and not a very common variety of dishes in which shallots are the main ingredient. Shallots stir fry can be prepared very easily and requires very little ingredients. Shallots stir fry can be saved up to 3 days without even popping it in the fridge. Shallots stir fry is incredibly easy to prepare and is ideal for those who have to rush to the office in the morning.

Today I’m going to share with you how to cook shallots stir fry. I know, when we hear the word  ‘shallots ‘ most of us won't be interested much. You know why? Because it is hard to peel off the shallots skin and it is very time-consuming also. But the fact is onion can never give you the taste that shallots can. Don’t worry, here I will give you some tips which help you to easily peel the shallots to make your dishes tastier without much effort.

Ingredients For Shallots Stir Fry

  • 500 gms shallots 
  • 1 cup grated coconut 
  • 1 tbsp chili powder 
  • ½ tbsp coriander powder 
  • 1 tbsp pepper powder 
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder 
  • Curry leaves 
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil 
  • 2 tbsp coconut bits
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds 
  • 3 dry red chili
  • salt to taste

Preparation For Shallots Stir Fry

  • Peel the shallots and finely chop it. 
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. 
  • Add dry red chilies and chopped shallots and sauté
  • When the shallots turn soft and translucent, add the coconut bites Stir well. 
  • Add the grated coconut, chili powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, and curry leaves to it until the raw smell changes.
  • Close the lid and allow the mixture to cook for at least three minutes.
  • Now mix everything together and add salt as well.
  • Add salt, mix it well
  • Stir it frequently, Allow the shallots to get roasted nicely before turning off the flame.  

Tips 

To peel the shallots quite easily, soak it in hot water for two minutes. The soaked shallots could be effortlessly peeled using a knife.

6. Add chopped Shallots and saute until shallots turn soft.
7. Add coconut bites, stir well

8. Add the grated coconut, chili powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, and curry leaves to it until the raw smell changes.
