Mutton Curry is one of the famous South Indian Cuisine. I am sharing a very tasty flavourful and delicious mutton curry recipe, which is a festival time delicacy and is a very good combo with biriyani, pulao and all types of roti and chapati and goes well even with appam and dosa too.
To be frank, I'd tried to try this out curry in the home several days back and the flavour was almost as near the restaurant so today, I'd a possibility to prepare it since we'd purchased fresh goat meat from the halal shop nearby. As mentioned, the range of spices is utilized in this recipe. They roasted without oil and ground. Whenever required, this masala spice mix can be saved and utilized.

Masala For Mutton Curry
- Coriander Seeds - 3 tbsp
- Pepper - 1 tbsp
- Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
- Dry red chilli - 10 nos
Ingredients For Mutton Curry
- Mutton - 800 gm
- Coconut Oil - 2 tbsp
- Bay leaf - 1 no
- Cloves - 5 nos
- Star aniseed - 2 nos
- Cardamom - 4 nos
- Cinnamon - a small piece
- Onion - 1 no
- Shallots - 20 nos
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chopped Tomato - 2 nos
- Garlic - 6 nos
- Ginger - a small piece
- Green chilli - 2 nos
- Curry leaves
- Coconut Pieces - 1 tbsp
Preparation For Mutton Curry Recipe
1. To make fresh mutton masala dry roast coriander seeds, fennel seeds, pepper, cumin seeds and dry red chillies for a couple of minutes on medium heat. Transfer the roasted spices to a blender add little water and grind it to a fine paste.
2. To make mutton curry heat coconut oil in a pan add Bay leaf, cloves, star aniseed, cardamom and cinnamon, fry it for a while on low flame.
3. Add shallots, chopped onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli, coconut pieces, curry leaves and saute until the onions are golden brown.
4. Once the onions are browned add turmeric powder and chopped tomato, cook until everything turns into a paste.
5. Add the mutton pieces and mix it well with the gravy. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
6. Add the masala paste, required water and salt, mix it well. cover and cook until the meat is soft and tender.
7. Finally, add some curry leaves and it is ready to serve.

9. Add the mutton pieces and mix it well with the gravy. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
10. Add the masala paste and stir well
11. Add required water and salt. cover and cook until the meat is soft and tender.
12. Finally, add some curry leaves and it is ready to serve.
